Maharaja Sree Cithara Thirumal Balarama Varma ordered the establishment of KU, formerly known as the University of Travancore, in 1937 to fully meet the needs of students seeking higher education. In 1976, the university founded the School of Distance Education Kerala University (IDEKU). This university currently provides a number of UG and PG courses in the fields of arts, commerce, and science via distant learning.

Admission 2023–24 Distance Education at Kerala University
The deadline for 2023 Kerala University Distance Education Admissions is September 2023. Applications for the academic year 2023 at Kerala University Distance Education will be accepted starting on June 4, 2023*. With the exception of a few language courses, the University of Kerala’s online offerings are virtually entirely in the English language.

Admission to UG Distance Education at Kerala University Undergraduate students have access to distance learning at the University of Kerala. M.Com.: A graduate degree is required for this programme, which takes two years to complete.
MLISc: Kerala University’s MLISc program has a two-year minimum completion requirement. Before applying for admission to a university-provided master’s program in the same discipline, applicants must hold a BLISc degree. Students are admitted based on their academic performance in prior years.
MSc: Master of Science, or M.Sc., is a two-year postgraduate degree with concentrations in biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics, life sciences, biotechnology, and microbiology. A master’s degree in science is intended to provide students with the necessary scientific knowledge and present them with a range of opportunities.
MBA from Kerala University online
Students who have earned their bachelor’s degrees can enroll in the MBA program at IDEKU. It offers the course through distance learning. The bachelor’s degree must have a minimum grade point average of 50%. At Kerala University, the cost of a distance MBA is INR 41,175.
Malaysian Academy of Distance Education
A student who is interested in this program must have earned a Master’s degree in addition to a Bachelor’s degree from a university that is accredited by the UGC with a minimum grade point average of 45%.

The latter week of September 2023 is the deadline for submitting SDE Kerala University application forms. In the first week of June 2023, IDEKU will make the application form for UG and PG course admission for the academic year 2023–24 available. By sending a DD for INR 250, the candidate can simply acquire the application form and prospectus from the KU School of Distance Education’s central office. International students must also pay a DD for INR 265 plus INR 10 in service fees.
